A victim of domestic violence and trafficking fighting the system, a rebellious reporter, a posh businesswoman, human rights activist, demonized loving girlfriend, a person fighting depression, a femme fatale, a young woman torn between love, family, and tradition, and a troubled teenager are some of the strong female characters Tomiek has already portrayed since turning professionally to acting.

Yet her beginnings go far back in time. Ivona Tomiek started performing when she was five years old. She has appeared in plays, ballets, and musicals and was a successful child performer, which led to her formal education in music, dance, and drama. She has trained in classical singing (a mezzo-soprano) and ballet for years, trained in various sports, played the piano, and was taught Stanislavski's system (Method acting) and classical acting as part of her acting studies. She is a versatile actress drawn to portraying taxing and strong female characters with experience in both theatre and on-screen. Tomiek is also a polyglot fluent in seven languages, conversational in several others, and a linguist with a double university degree. This year, she finished her formal, conservatoire training in classical acting at the prestigious LAMDA in London, where she achieved a remarkable result showing particular interest in the fields of movement and voice.
